Dr. Arthur grew up in Southern New Jersey, outside Philadelphia, where she was very involved in the performing arts. During undergrad at Towson University she rowed before class daily in Baltimore’s inner harbor on the Crew team and graduated Summa Cum Laude with two Bachelor of Science degrees, in Molecular Biology and Psychology. Medical school and training took her to Long Island, New York for 7 years. She earned her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her pediatric training at a dual accredited program between Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, NY and Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY. In her last year of residency she joined a medical mission trip to El Salvador and spent 2 weeks traveling and providing care to children in several regions, even spending a few days at Patch Adam’s clinic. After practicing over six years on the DelMarVa Peninsula, she relocated to Smith Mountain Lake to join Physicians to Children in 2014.
Dr. Arthur is board certified by both the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics. She has been a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 2007.
Dr. Arthur’s husband, Joseph, was born and raised in Botetourt County. They have four boys: Anderson, Remington, Jameson, and Elliston. Dr. Arthur enjoys kayaking, traveling, bargain shopping and spending time with her family.
